Following a September rally and subsequent events, the Rise Up For Climate Justice Campaign is sponsoring a Community Gathering. We gather to collect our voices calling on our president and U.S. negotiators in Paris to make bold cuts in greenhouse gas emissions to avert the worst impacts of climate change and to ensure a just transition for communities and workers during the necessary shift from dirty fossil fuels to clean energy sources.

Sending Our Voices to Paris: Names of signers of our Climate Justice Pledge will be displayed on a scroll that will be ceremoniously presented to UB law students who will deliver it to an official at the U.N. Climate Conference in Paris.

Families with children are encouraged to attend and participate in the ceremonies. Food will be provided and there will be music.

WHO ARE WE: The Rise Up For Climate Justice Campaign comprises diverse groups of Western New Yorkers including people of different faith groups, students, people of color, teachers, indigenous people, labor unions, community activists, environmentalists, artists, performers and local politicians. The campaign is open to all people.
