Saturday, September 21, 2:00 PM Lincoln ParkOn the afternoon of Saturday, September 21st DC Divest will be hosting "Draw the Line DC," which will be a kick off for our fall activism efforts and a chance for members of the community to come together to learn about how climate change will affect DC and participate in some advocacy activities to support the divestment movement. To help build the local movement to take climate action now, we will be having "rising tide" stations that will show residents just how inudated some of the most important cultural and historic places in the District will become if we do not act now! At the "rising tide" stations you will be able visualize just how high the water will rise here. And what event would be complete without some top notch speakers! Draw the Line DC will have speakers to talk about climate change, getting the city to divest, and why local movements are the key to building a global movement to stop climate change. But the most important speaker at this event will be you! A simple dialogue with your neighbor or one of DC Divest's volunteers can go a long way to building support for a local climate movement here in the District! There will also be games for kids, and booths for poster-making. This community event is open to all and will be at Lincoln Park in SE Washington, DC. Stay update on the event on our Draw the Line DC Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/473806062716647/Washington, DC, DC 20003You'll be able to see the location and contact the event host after you RSVP.
